Cookie Policy for MSE SAS

Effective Date: 04/06/2025
Last Updated: 04/06/2025

MSE SAS (“we,” “our,” “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website (mse-sas.com) to ensure core functionality, remember your language and consent preferences, and gather anonymous analytics data. This Cookie Policy describes which cookies are set for normal (logged-out) visitors, why they are needed, and how you can manage your preferences—all in compliance with GDPR and the Danish Cookie Executive Order.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. They enable the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as language or consent choices) so that your experience is smoother on subsequent visits.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

A. Strictly Necessary Cookies (Always Active)

These cookies are required for the basic functionality of the website—security, language management, and cookie-consent handling. They do not require your prior consent and are set automatically when you visit the site.

Cookie Name Duration / Expiry Description
_cf_bm 1 day (approx.) Set by Cloudflare Bot Management. Helps protect the site from malicious bots and automated traffic.
_Secure-ENID 1 month (approx.) Set by Google to identify a user’s session and ensure secure navigation when interacting with services.
cookielyes-consent 1 year Set by CookieYes to remember your consent preferences (which categories of cookies you accepted or declined).
pll_language 1 year Stores the language you selected (via Polylang) so the site displays in that same language on future visits.

B. Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)

If you explicitly consent, we enable Matomo and Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymous data about how you interact with our site—pages viewed, session duration, referral sources, and other usage patterns. These analytics cookies help us improve site performance and user experience. They are only set after you give your consent.

Cookie Name Duration / Expiry Description
_pk_id.2.0474 13 months Matomo: Stores a unique visitor ID to count unique visitors.
_pk_ses.2.0474 30 minutes – 1 hour Matomo: Stores a temporary session ID to group multiple page views within one visit.
_pk_ref.2.0474 6 months Matomo: Records the referring site or search engine that led you to our website on your first visit.
_pk_cvar.2.0474 6 months Matomo: Saves custom visitor variables (e.g., campaign data) if configured.
_pk_hsr.2.0474 30 minutes Matomo: Stores a timestamp of the first page view in a session to calculate time spent between pages.
MATOMO_SESSID Session Matomo: Maintains an active visitor session (used for accurate analytics).
_clck 1 year (approx.) Microsoft Clarity: Stores a Clarity user ID and user settings so actions on subsequent visits link to the same ID.
_clk Session (or up to 30 min) Microsoft Clarity: Captures pageview data to group multiple interactions into a single session.
CLID 1 year (approx.) Microsoft Clarity: Identifies a unique browser when Clarity first sees a visitor—used to generate anonymous heatmaps and session recordings.

C. Marketing / Targeting Cookies (Consent Required)

With your explicit consent, we may permit certain third-party marketing/advertising cookies to measure ad performance or deliver relevant advertisements. Currently, the only known marketing cookie on our site is:

Cookie Name Duration / Expiry Description
MUID 1 year (approx.) Microsoft Advertising: Identifies unique browsers for ad targeting and analytics on clarity.ms.

Note on MUID:

  • MUID is set by Microsoft to recognize browsers when you interact with our site’s Microsoft Ads or Clarity features. It helps measure campaign performance and deliver relevant ads.

3. Cookie Duration

  • Session Cookies – Deleted when you close your browser (e.g., _cf_bm, _pk_ses.2.0474, _clk, MATOMO_SESSID).
  • Persistent Cookies – Remain on your device until they expire or you manually delete them (e.g., cookielyes-consent, pll_language, _pk_id.2.0474, MUID).

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit our site, a cookie banner appears with three options:

  1. Accept All Cookies (including analytics and marketing).
  2. Reject All Non-Essential Cookies (only strictly necessary cookies will be set).
  3. Customize My Choices (enable or disable Analytics and Marketing cookies).

You may modify or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page. Updating your preferences will cause the banner to reappear so you can adjust your selections.

5. Third-Party Cookies & Data Sharing

  • Matomo: All Matomo cookies (_pk_id.2.0474, _pk_ses.2.0474, _pk_ref.2.0474, _pk_cvar.2.0474, _pk_hsr.2.0474, MATOMO_SESSID) are managed by our Matomo server at matomo.mse-sas.com. No personal data is shared with external parties.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Clarity cookies (_clck, _clk, CLID) originate from clarity.ms and are used solely for anonymized heatmaps and session recordings.
  • Microsoft Advertising: The MUID cookie, also set by clarity.ms, is used for Microsoft Advertising analytics.

These third parties process data under their own privacy policies. For more details, please refer to:

6. How to Delete or Block Cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking certain cookies—especially strictly necessary cookies—may prevent essential site features from working correctly:

7. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in laws or our practices. Any changes will be posted here with a revised “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
